For the advancement of time, the game enthusiasts have experienced innovative gaming tools. All because of the blessing of modern technology, the definition of gaming has changed. When it comes to the discussion of the latest era of indoor gaming, then the thought of video gaming comes on the mind. Nowadays, these have become a craze among the young generations all over the world. There have been hundreds of gaming consoles developed to provide awesome experiences of gaming, but with the launch of Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, a completely new dimension has added in the world of hi-tech gaming.

First let’s talk about the high definition systems which both the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360 fall in this category. Why? Well first off both have graphics output that is native to the high definition resolutions and as such can have games that are produced in hi-def. While yes the Wii COULD output in high definition Nintendo has wisely limited the resolution of games on its system. It was a wise decision not only because high definition capable televisions are not as main stream yet as some would hope, but also because of the Wii’s limited hardware capabilities*. The Sony PlayStation 3 takes things in the high definition world even further by using the Blue Ray disk as its standard drive, and making it as its standard for developing games. This not only gives developers 50 gigabytes of storage to play with but also higher quality sound and video.

Now lets talk about what we call hybrid technology, which only the Wii falls under this category. Why? it mostly has to do with Nintendo’s choice of processors and memory. With out diving to much in to boring (to some) technical talk its best to say that there is a mix or hybrid of new and old technologies in play inside the Wii. While this is also somewhat true with the Microsoft Xbox 360 the wii takes the idea to new levels. By using newer nano-technologies to make the processor they milk more power out of slower processors then used to be possible. They also use a mix of old and new generation memory, not only for backwards capabilities but also for faster processing. Even with all this the Wii is still not nearly as powerful as either of the other major gaming systems.

Now that we know the basic differences between the different types of systems lets talk about what is best and for whom.

Let’s start off with graphics, here is where most would just jump onto the Sony PlayStation 3, but if you take out the numbers, and go on a broader scale, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 come out about even. If graphics are your only concern then these two systems will be your only choice, the Wii will have nice good clean graphics but it just can’t beat out the other 2. Though if graphics are your only concern you better have a High Definition TV to enjoy those wonderful graphics or they will leave you wondering what is so different.

So if you are like most of us gamers there is more to gaming then graphics, and if your in that category we cant tell you exactly what to buy but we can help you make the choice easier. With that in mind let’s look at over all value. Value in gaming can me so much to so many people so let us define it a bit, value will mean the sole relation to cost per enjoyment. Still pretty a broad definition but it will help clear things up.

If you thought that was a big deal, wait ’til you get a load of this: According to the European PlayStation blog, yet another firmware update is imminent. And this one is pretty sweet — seems that not only will console owners now be able to play PSP Minis, but if you’ve already bought a Mini for your portable and wish to play it on your PS3, you’ll be able to download it to your console for free. Also included in the 3.15 update is a simplified utility for transferring data from one PS3 to another.

A step toward that goal is the company’s recent introduction of the PS3 Video Delivery Service into the heart of Europe. PlayStation loyalists in Deustchland, España, France, and the United Kingdom can now use their beloved console (or the PSP) to grab movies from a selection that is set to grow at a consistent pace of 50 new films being added per week. Both SD and HD versions are available, with the cheaper variants going for €1.99 / £2.49 to rent or €7.99 / £6.99 to purchase, and you can see a trailer for the new service after the break.

After that false alarm about an October release date, the Tony Hawk Ride bandwagon was all set for departure on November 17 and that’s exactly what’s happened. Available for a cent under $120, the new game / peripheral combo will allow players to shimmy, gesture, and ollie their way to (simulated) skateboarding immortality on the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. The earliest European availability we can see is offered by Amazon UK, which indicates a December 4 launch for the Queen’s isles and a discounted £89 ($149) price. You can check out our own feets-on with that wireless controller right here or, if you so wish, peruse the full PR at the read link. What’s not optional, however, is missing the bonus “making of” video for that most radical of peripherals, which we’ve lovingly prepared for you just after the break.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — It’s time to get off the couch and into the game with Activision Publishing, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ATVI) Tony Hawk: RIDE, the ground-breaking new entry in the popular action sports franchise. Featuring a revolutionary skateboard controller, players of varied skill levels can physically control the action by stepping on board to perform movements and gestures that directly translate into amazing tricks in the game; from grinds, grabs and ollies to Tony Hawk’s signature tricks.

“Tony Hawk: RIDE is THE new way to play. It gives a whole new meaning to game night by allowing the entire family to challenge one another to competitions that are as fun to watch as they are to play,” said Rob Kostich, head of marketing, licensed products, Activision Publishing, Inc. “It’s the perfect activity for the entire family this holiday season … and anytime of the year.”

“This is the game I’ve always wanted to make,” said legendary pro skater Tony Hawk. “The skateboard peripheral opens up a whole new level of interactivity and physicality, allowing players to control the action with their whole body. I can’t wait for everyone to jump on the board and ride.”

Tony Hawk: RIDE takes the popular action sports video game franchise in an all-new direction. The wireless skateboard controller was designed in conjunction with the game to offer a dynamic gaming experience built from the ground up. The innovative motion sensing peripheral offers a completely new way to play games. Without complex button combinations or analog sticks, gamers of various skill levels can literally step on the board and play.

Tony Hawk: RIDE is developed by Robomodo for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. Buzz Monkey developed the Wii(TM) system version. The game is rated E10+ by the ESRB.

First, the adapter, essentially an Ethernet bridge, works with the PS3, allowing for the use of the 802.11n standard with Sony’s console.

Second, and most importantly, the Mad Catz adapter improves upon the most reviled feature of the Microsoft model: the price. At $79.99 (£49.99/€59.99 in the UK and Europe), the Mad Catz Wireless-N Gaming Adapter is no impulse buy, but it’s exactly twenty dollars better than Microsoft’s version. Mad Catz told Joystiq that its device is currently shipping to North American and European retailers and will be available in the company’s online store this week.

Well, go figure. It seems like some companies see Microsoft’s new and pricey Wireless N adapter for the Xbox 360 as a prime candidate for some competition. One of the first out of the gate is Mad Catz, which has just released its new Wireless-N Gaming Adapter that packs a slightly more reasonable MSRP of $80 (twenty bucks less than Mircosoft’s), and should no doubt see even bigger discounts than the official Microsoft option. As you may have already guessed, however, this one is actually just a standard wireless bridge aimed at the gamer crowd, which just so happens to mean it’ll also work just fine with the PlayStation 3 if you’re looking to step-up to 802.11n or take advantage of the forthcoming Adhocparty service.

Let’s get this out of the way at the top: No, Sony’s Aino phone, which touts limited PS3 Remote Play functionality, can’t access any of the PSN or PSP games you may have hoped it would. However, a recent Playstation.Blog post revealed the crosstalk capabilities imbued within the mobile device (which hit store shelves today) — while it may lack ludo-logical punch, it’s packing some impressive multimedia tools.

After registering your Aino with your PS3, you’ll be able to use your phone to access the XMB, browse the internet, watch any non-DRM’d media on your console, send and receive PSN messages, shop in the PlayStation Store and watch TV shows using the PlayTV service. Best of all, you can use your phone to turn your PS3 on and off, which should prove handy when you attempt to convince your roommate that your entertainment center is haunted.

The latest firmware adds full screen functionality to embedded Flash videos in the web browser, as well as generally “improving the way the Flash Player works with the internet browser.” Meaning more websites will now work. Overall, a nice, if slightly anemic, firmware update. It’s all free though, so we can’t complain. Go on commenters, prove us wrong.
